I met up with an old friend after 20 years of finding each other. The best part was that he happened to be in Cannes during that same week we were going! We'd invited David and his family for a BBQ's where we had been staying in the mountains. David mentioned he'll get the dessert from this lovely patissier next to where they were staying. "I'll bring 3 cakes" he texted! 3 cakes I implored! 1 is enough for us all. No, No says he, you just don't know what these cakes are like! Guess David just wanted an excuse to indulge, i thought to myself :). What can I say our guests turned up with 2 cakes, a chocolate cake that was a killer and a fruit cake that was most popular amongst us all. Never have I tasted a mix of pistachio and raspberries within a fruit cake in such a way! It was exquisite, a climax!. A must for all of you visiting Cannes if thats your fancy.
