Pretty picture! What is the red stripe n the macaron?

You'll find out more about this soon, but it's just a brush stroke made with food colouring before the shells go into the oven. x

Can’t wait to hear from you each week – yes! I’m completely hopeless at macaroons (but then I blame my gas oven ;-)) but can understand people’s fascination with them and yours look oh so pretty. Spring makes us feel so inspired, thanks for the stunning pictures.
Oh and I must try that chocolate with maldon sea salt, especially as I’ll be in the UK next week.

Make sure you get some maldon sea salt. It’s lovely. For the chocolate bar, I simply tempered some dark chocolate and sprinkle a little salt while the chocolate was setting.
